Listed below are some of the dance festivals of India which are famous for the various renowned artists who perform in the beautiful backdrops of the age old temples, where they are held every year. These festivals attract a large audience from both India and abroad. They create a divine ambience around both the artistes and the spectators.
San Jose, California
For the first time in US, a structured degree program for a degree in Bharathanatyam has been created by the renowned Alagappa University, Karaikudi, India and the Alagappa Performing Arts Academy (APAA), Escondido, California. The program in Milpitas, California was launched at 4.00pm on November 26th 2005 at ICC Milpitas. Chairman Mr.Vairavan releasing the degree program learning aids to Professor George Hart, University of California, Berkeley, CA accompanied by Managing Director, Mrs. Alagu Vairavan, Mrs. Vishal Ramani, Founder/Director Shri Krupa Dance Academy, San Jose, CA and well known Cini Star Mrs. Padmini Ramachandran.
Houston, Texas
The program in Houston was launched at 3.30pm on February 11, 2006 at Rathna Kumar's Anjali Center, 2615 Cordes Plaza, Sugarland, Texas. With over hundred guests attending the event was graced by Mr & Mrs. S.M. Gavai, Consulate General of India, Houston, Texas.
Jakarta, Indonesia
For the first time in Indonesia, the novel program for Bharathanatyam students was launched on September 9th, 2007 by Kalavrsti - A shower of fine arts". More than hundred guests accompanied and 20 students have registered on the same day.
